Hi, I'm Jenessa!

I love sports, I'm drawn to sparkly things like a moth to a flame, and for the longest time, I didn't realize those things could go hand in hand. Then I spent nearly a decade in New Orleans where I learned some valuable life lessons: nearly everything is worth celebrating, more is more, and you can never have too much glitter.

I grew up in North Carolina and I eventually found my way home just as the Charlotte FC was gearing up for its inaugural season. There was a whole new wave of sports fans, the excitement in the city was contagious, and I couldn't help but notice that game day fashion could use a little more personality. I had a few ideas, a whole lot of craft supplies, and no intention of keeping things subtle. And just like that, Crownfolk came to life.

What started as a way to give female sports fans something more fun to wear on game day has grown into something bigger than I ever could have imagined. Now Crownfolk is for anyone who wants their personality to shine a little brighter in all of life's moments. Nothing makes me happier than meeting customers, hearing their stories, or spotting something I made in a sea of thousands of fans. The Jumbotron sightings are a pretty epic bonus, too. Sports have a way of connecting people, and I love that Crownfolk gets to be a part of that.

When I'm not making accessories, I'm a full-time fisheries biologist who loves traveling, lifting weights, and spending time with my husband Will and our two silly dogs, Bindi and Vic. I grew up in a DIY house where making things from scratch was just how it was done, and thankfully I married someone who fully supports my crazy, crafty, glitter-fueled endeavors. He even supported my decision to make body glitter as favors for our wedding reception, and watching the entire dance floor sparkle was one of my favorite memories of the nights!
